Pradakshinam (going round the temple) : This is the most important among the worshipping order of the temple. Offers respects to the lower dietes and chanting " Om: Hreem Nama Shivaya " the devotees goes round the temple once before getting inside the temple. After worshipping Nandi on the mandapam the devotee should turn left and walk on the outside of the Bali stone upto the water channel, look upto the tower and pray with folded hands. After this, he should walk back on the inside of the bali stone, upto the water channel pray to the tower, go back outside of bali stones, reach the sopana and then worship the lord. 
The devotees should not walk across the sopana. The devotees should take 4 rounds like this. This pradakshinam gives moksha to the devotees, renders him disease free and gives him all blessings. While doing pradakshina, the devotee should keep his hands on two sides of the body, concentrate his mind on Lord Shiva and goddess Parvathy and chant "Om: Hreem Namashivaya".

The pradakshinam done in the morning renders the devotee disease free, in midday will help to fulfill all his wishes, in the evening will wipe off all his sins and during midnight offers his mukthi (moksha). The continuous pradaksinam done from sunrise to sunset will fulfill all his wishes.the first pradakshinam washes off even Brahmahathya papam, while the second one makes him eligible to worship the Lord. The third one offers the devotee all worldly pleasures. Thus, doing the pradakshina here is the most important ritual, which bestows on the devotee all that he wishes for.
